The MEFM truly is .... magic !

DESIGN

Originally designed by Ray Bordelon of Big Easy Kites, New Orleans, this majestic looking 18 panel masterpiece has become famous, not only for its distinctive appearance, but for its many innovative features.

After 5 years of competition flying experience MEFM Australia further developed the MEFM, resulting in the Microlite, Meteor and Missile.

ADJUSTABLE ASPECT RATIO…This amazing feature of the MEFM allows the flier to adjust the size of the kite for different winds and to suit differing flying styles, changing the size of the kite, by adding or removing spacers from the 'T' piece, along with a small bridle adjustment, will transform the MEFM from a 'fast sports car’ to a ‘slow grand cruiser’…and everything in between !!

THE ‘M’ BRIDLE…an extremely innovative bridle, also known as the ‘turbo’ bridle, has become famous since the MEFM took to the skies. With four adjustment points, instead of two, a vast array of settings is possible. You can adjust the kite to fly in lighter or stronger winds, fly faster or slower, turn tight or wide or stall with the flick of a wrist. This bridle distributes load evenly to the frame so the MEFM does not distort in high winds.

FLOATING STANDOFF SYSTEM…
The ‘standoff’ that help holds the deep billow in the sail, is not just connected to the lower spreader, as in most kites. This can distort the spreader. In the MEFM the standoff extends from the sail, through a slide fitting on the spreader, to the ‘bowstring’. This Dacron line not only tensions the sail but also ensures spreaders remain firmly in place. MEFM spars never pop out.

LEECHLINE…
A 150lb Spectra leech line in the kites trailing edge helps maintain the trim and the kite flies silently. This translates to the flier as silky smooth flying, allowing for the ultimate in fingertip control. The feeling at the end of the lines is superb.
