CONSTRUCTION
The MEFM is constructed like no other, using a unique
and exact technique of aligning and heat welding the panels together before
sewing., (no double sided tape) and then great attention to detail when sewing
ensuring each sail is worthy of the MEFM name. Each kite , when tuned the same,
will fly the same, whether it was made in ’94 or ’03.
-
Each MEFM is handmade,
by Warren McIntosh, numbered and signed, with written warranty.
-
Each of the nine
panels on each side aligned for maximum strength.
-
All reinforcements,
leading and trailing edge are triple stitched.
-
All knots are either
heat sealed or heat shrinked. No protruding knots or fittings on back of kite to
foul lines. A skilled MEFM flier can re-launch a downed kite without walking up
to the kite to untangle lines.
-
T-Piece and L/E
ferrules both double sleeved. They’ll never break.
-
Because of strict
attention to detail, the MEFM’s sail cut, and weight on the right and left
half are identical, this translates to well balanced flight. In a ‘float’
type manoeuvre
the MEFM will float down straight and not pitch left to right like
a falling leaf.
-
Every MEFM is fully
assembled, as the final step in manufacture, to set & tension the leechline
and cement connectors in place.

It’s the sum of all these things that make the difference between
‘very good’, ‘excellent’ and …….
'most
excellent'
